Liane Strauss was born in Queens, New York, and grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey. She is the author of Leaving Eden(Salt Publishing, 2010) and Frankie, Alfredo, (Donut Press, 2009). Her poems have appeared in a variety of journals in the US and the UK, including Poetry, The Hudson Review, The Georgia Review, Poetry Review, The Iowa Review, Prairie Schooner and Magma. She is the Head of Poetry in Creative Writing at Birkbeck College, University of London, and lives in London with her two sons.
Liane received second prize in the Cardiff International Poetry Competition for her poem ‘It’, in July 2014. Come along and take advantage of the opportunity to listen to Liane on Tuesday, 17th. February at the Camden Centre in Tunbridge Wells.
