The Kent & Sussex Poetry Society is a lively local group with a national reputation.
We’ve been going for an incredible 65 years in Tunbridge Wells but remain as friendly and supportive and open to newcomers as ever.
Our activities include:
- Monthly open poetry readings from a wide range of contemporary poets. These evenings also include a short ‘open mic’ slot for readings from the floor.
- Monthly poetry workshops for writers looking for feedback on their poems.
- Our mega annual open poetry competition, with £1550 in prizes.
- An annual Folio competition, judged by well-recognised poets, for members only.
Annual dues are still only £15, which entitles you to free admission to the local readings and our monthly Tuesday workshops, plus the opportunity to take part in our highly subsidised workshops and writing retreats, for members only.
Most of our readings are held at The Camden Centre, Tunbridge Wells on the third Tuesday of each month, and are open to non-members. Admission £3.
