On Tuesday April 15th at 8.00 p.m., this year’s judge Kit Fan will announce the seven prize-winning poems in our 2025 Open Poetry Competition. This will be at the Royal Wells Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, where we hope to be joined by all seven winners, either in person or on zoom, to read their poems. We’ll post the results by the following day.
We’re thrilled that Kit agreed to judge the competition, and that he’ll also read some of his own poetry on the evening.
Kit Fan’s third poetry collection The Ink Cloud Reader (Carcanet, 2023) was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize and the Forward Prize. His earlier collections are As Slow As Possible (Arc Publications, 2018) and Paper Scissors Stone (Hong Kong University Press, 2011). His first novel is Diamond Hill (Dialogue Books, 2021). He reviews regularly for The Guardian and TLS. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and Non-Executive Board Director of the Author’s Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS).
